Women and Youth Participation in Mitigating Sexual and Gender- Based Violence (SGBV) and Peace Processes
Addressing SGBV is a significant, long-term development challenge.
Recognizing the scale of the challenge, ACSGRE works with various development partners to develop strategies and sensitizes women on addressing S/GBV.
ACSGRE’s engagement is building on local partnerships, learning, and best practices to test and advance effective approaches to prevent SGBV—including interventions to address the social norms and behaviors that underpin violence — and to scale up and improve response when violence occurs.
Insecurity and conflict in the Greater Horn of Africa greatly constrain development. In recognition of this, ACSGRE continues to play an active role in upholding previous peace agreements in the region and participating in upcoming peace processes. It does this by advocating for the full inclusion of women and youth in the various peace processes and development work.
