Who We Are
Africa Centre for Security, Governance, and Research (ACSGRE) is an independent, non-governmental organization registered in Kenya since 2013. The Centre facilitates cutting-edge research, analysis, advocacy, training, and interventions on critical issues of peace, security, and governance at local, national, regional, and international levels. We ensure mainstreaming of gender in all of our work to mitigate the negative impacts of conflict and insecurity on men, women, and other vulnerable groups and marginalized communities.
ACSGRE adopts and promotes the concept of human security as a central pillar of our programs and intervention areas. We advance the understanding and application of people-centered, multi-sectoral, and context-specific solutions to critical and pervasive human insecurities.
Mission
Our mission is to contribute to the timely prevention, resolution, and effective management of conflicts in Africa through innovative approaches and to bring lasting peace and good governance across the continent and beyond through cutting-edge methodologies and cooperative networks.

The Objectives
- Supporting and promoting the capacity development of ACSGRE and its key partners for research and analysis on critical issues such as early warning, conflict management, and peacebuilding in the region.
- Promoting community based peace initiatives by broadening space for dialogues and analysis of security issues.
- Encouraging the greater participation of women in conflict management and peace building at regional, national and international levels.

Our Team
The ACSGRE Secretariat is headed by the Executive Director, who is in charge of the day-to-day operations. The Director is assisted by a team of highly competent staff discharging their duties in the various programmatic areas. From time to time, the organization engages professionals from both academia as well as practitioners to bolster capacity.
At the policy level, a board is led by the chairperson and four while the Executive Director serves as the Secretary. The current staff complement is as below;
