Collaboration and partnerships

The Centre engages with government agencies, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, private sector businesses, civil society organizations, academics, lawyers, journalists, and security and humanitarian professionals to tackle some of Africa’s most demanding problems.

Among ACSGRE’s partners include Inter-Governmental Organizations such as the Regional Centre on Small Arms in the Great Lakes Region, Horn of Africa and Bordering States (RECSA), and regional NGOs like Fellowship for Christian Council of Churches in the Horn and Great Lakes (FECCLAHA) and academic institutions such as Kibabii University.

Locally ACSGRE also works very closely with government institutions such as the National Steering Committee (NSC) on Peacebuilding and Conflict Management, Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms & Light Weapons (KNFP), Garissa University, Nairobi Peace Initiatives – Africa, Security Research Information Centre (SRIC) and Intermediate Technology Development Group among others.

Careers and tenders

ACSGRE conducts much of its work through collaborative approaches. Its team of experts consists of diverse professionals, researchers, and practitioners. The team draws its strength from civil society organisations, academia, and research institutions in the region and beyond, all bringing together a unique blend of qualifications, experiences, and capacities.

ACSGRE engages professionals from both academia as well as practitioners to bolster capacity.

Internships

Limited internships for both international and local students are available for three month periods and are unpaid. ACSGRE considers speculative applications on a rolling basis.
